Cuppa Jax holds gatherings for neighborhood and community leaders that are open to everyone in Jacksonville. Join us on Wednesday mornings in the Skyline Room in the Riverplace Tower on the Southbank to discuss important issues facing our city. 

Obi Umunna is a prominent lawyer and political consultant based in Florida, known for his impactful work in engaging communities of color in the electoral process. He gained national recognition through his participation in the PBS documentary “Post Obama Drama,” which examined the potential shift in Black voter enthusiasm in presidential elections without Barack Obama on the ballot. Obi served as the North Florida Political Director for Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election, a pivotal role in a region that voted for a Democratic candidate for the first time in 24 years.

With over a decade of experience, Obi has specialized in consulting for politicians and organizations focused on mobilizing diverse communities. He has held the title of Senior Political Consultant for various successful national, state, and local campaigns, showcasing his commitment to justice and community service. His notable projects include leading efforts against the privatization of local public utilities and spearheading a statewide campaign for COVID-19 vaccinations.
