Public Affairs

The Public Affairs Committee supports our community projects through education and advocacy efforts. We are also affiliated with the Junior Leagues of Florida State Public Affairs Committee, a non-partisan education and advocacy organization representing 23 Junior Leagues and over 11,000 women statewide. We participate in the public policy process in the following ways:

  • Advocating for specific legislation at the local, state and national levels that are relevant to our key issue areas
  • Educating Junior League members about advocacy and public policy
  • Coordinating the exchange of information from community-based League projects to policymakers

Locally, the Junior League of Jacksonville’s advocacy focus is improving access to nutrition education and affordable healthy foods. This focus supports our main community projects, Fresh Minds and Kids in the Kitchen.
